Quick question: Do you actually know what you're good at?

Not what your parents say you're good at. Not what your teachers put on your report card. What YOU think you're actually good at.

Most kids have never really thought about it. They're too busy just getting through the day.

But here's the thing β€” knowing yourself is like having a superpower. When you know what you're good at, you can use it. When you know what you care about, you stop wasting time on stuff that doesn't matter. When you know what makes you different from everyone else, you stop trying so hard to be like everyone else.

And you're definitely different. Not weird-different. Interesting-different.

Think about it this way. You have things you're naturally good at that your friends aren't. Maybe you're the one who always knows how to make the group laugh. Maybe you're the one who figures out how things work. Maybe you're the one who remembers everything, or draws incredible things, or always knows what to say when someone is upset.

Those are real strengths. Not every kid has them. You do.

You also have things you care about more than other people do. Maybe it's fairness β€” it really bugs you when something isn't fair. Maybe it's animals, or music, or sports, or taking care of people you love. Those things you care about? They tell you a lot about who you are.

This week your job is simple: pay attention to yourself.

Notice what feels easy for you that seems hard for others. Notice what makes you lose track of time. Notice what makes you feel proud. Write it all down in your journal.

By the end of this week you're going to know yourself a little better than you did at the start.

That's not a small thing. Most people never do it.

This week's prompt
"What three words would your best friend use to describe you β€” and would you agree?"
Write at least half a page. Don't rush it. Think about the three words first β€” really think β€” then write about whether you agree and why. No journal yet? Any blank notebook works. Or grab the official MSC Journal on Amazon.

The New Game Challenge
Organize a game this week that YOU choose and teach to your friends. Pick something from the activity list they've never played before. You're in charge β€” you explain the rules, set it up, make it happen. Notice how it feels to lead something.

Creativities
All About Me
Create something that represents who you are β€” your strengths, your interests, what you love. Drawing, collage, playlist, photo series, vision board β€” any medium works. The only rule: it has to be genuinely about you, not what you think looks cool.
πŸ† Normal points apply Β· +5 pts if you finish it
Adventures
Somewhere New
Go somewhere in your town or neighborhood you've never been before. A park you've driven past but never visited. A trail you've never walked. A part of your town you don't know. Explore it. Pay attention to what you notice and what interests you.
πŸ† 15 pts adventure Β· +8 pts new adventure bonus
Fitness
Try Something Different
Pick a fitness category you've never tried before β€” Yoga & Stretch, High Intensity, or Equipment. Find a beginner version online and give it a real shot for at least 20 minutes. Notice whether you like it or hate it. Either answer is useful information about yourself.

The Strength List Challenge
  • 1
Write down 10 genuine strengths you have. Not things you wish you were good at β€” things you actually are. They can be big or small. "I make people laugh." "I never give up." "I'm great with animals." Anything real counts.
  • 2
Share your list with one person who knows you well β€” a parent, sibling, or close friend β€” and ask them: "Would you add anything to this list?" That conversation is the challenge.
"Why does this earn bonus points? Because it takes guts to say out loud what you're good at. Most people never do it."
